Overview

The 2009 Chevrolet TrailBlazer is an SUV that is built on a truck platform. It received an extensive facelift for the 2006 model year. The TrailBlazer will no longer blaze a trail from next year onwards. 2009 will be its farewell year, when the Traverse will make way for this and its sibling model, the Uplander. So, 2009 is the best year to make this buy.

Power and performance

The 2009 Chevy TrailBlazer is offered in two trims: LT and SS. The LT, further offered as 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT, is given a 4.2-liter Inline-6 engine generating 285 hp and coupled to a four-speed auto transmission. It comes in both 2WD and 4WD options. The SS comes with a choice of 2WD and AWD and a 6.0-liter LS2 small block V8 engine that has an output of 390 hp. This engine comes with trim-specific ZQ8 suspension with rear air-assisted load leveling and drives on a heavy-duty, electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission.

Body and styling

Across its trims, Chevy has given the 2009 TrailBlazer a whole range of features. These include 20-inch polished wheels; Eaton limited slip rear differential; quick-ratio, low-friction power steering; heavy-duty front disc brakes; and SS premium leather-appointed seating for the SS trim. The LT is given 17-inch Sport-aluminum tires; heated, dual power-adjustable outside mirrors; oil-life monitor; new Bluetooth wireless technology for select compatible phones; 18-inch polished aluminum wheels; Bose six-speaker system; AM/FM stereo with CD player; XM radio with three month trial; power windows and door locks with remote keyless entry; 65/35 split bench seats; eight-way power driver seat adjuster with power recliner; and fog lamps across the three sub-trims.

Safety Features

The 2009 Chevrolet TrailBlazer's standard safety features include daytime running lights; Driver Information System; anti-lock braking system; traction control; side blind zone alert; StabiliTrak; safety cage; a host of airbags and belts; LATCH; and OnStar.
